Please lend assistance where you can as we approach the end of Great Lent, the weekend of Lazarus Saturday and Palm Sunday, and Holy Week. We need helpers to dye eggs at home for Pascha. Please see sign-up sheets for this and other needs at the candle desk. Here is a listing of some key times where assistance is needed:
Lazarus Saturday: Apr. 20. After Liturgy assistance is needed to wrap palms and willows together for distribution during the vigil for Palm Sunday on Saturday evening.
Holy Thursday: Apr. 25 After 9am Liturgy we will need assistance to place the Cross in the center of the church for Matins of Holy Friday with 12 Gospels.
After evening service, will need assistance to place the tomb in the center of the church, and place the flowers there in anticipation of the placing of the winding sheet during Holy Friday Vespers. We will also need to place the dark coverings on the analogia in preparation for Holy Saturday Liturgy.
Holy Friday: Apr. 26 Please see sign-up sheets for processions on Holy Friday (3pm, 6pm). Please also see sign-up sheet for reading at the tomb.
Holy Saturday, Apr. 27. The church and hall need to be prepped for Pascha after 10am Liturgy.
Pascha: Agape Meal (early morning Apr. 28)
Please see Susan Papademetris for a listing of needed food items.
We need assistance for preparation and clean-up for the Agape Meal, Sunday and Monday.
"So that no one needs to be anywhere other than at Liturgy, foods must be brought ready to serve (on trays, not in packages, desserts cut, etc.). Warming ovens will be kept on low heat, so hot foods may be placed there before the service begins."
In the packet of materials forwarded to parishioners prior to our annual parish meeting is an Image Release Form. In case anyone needs extra copies, you can find the form here. Please plan to bring them, signed, to Sunday's meeting.
With gratitude in Christ,
