Holy Transfiguration Church's celebration of its Patronal Feast Day, on August 6th, was even more full with the presence of clergy and faithful of the CT Deanery! Clergy joining Archpriest Steven Voytovich, Acting Rector, as celebrants: newly retired Archpriest Vladimir Aleandro, and Priest Moses Locke, new Acting Rector from Christ the Savior Church in Southbury; Priest Patrick Burns from Three Saints Church in Ansonia; Deacon Timothy Skuby from St. Alexis Orthodox Church. Mitred Archpriest Michael Westerberg was in the altar as well. Among the servers were Fr. Moses's sons, our Subdeacon Paul Tvardzik, Subdeacon Paul Juzwishen and Stefan Zuber from Three Saints, and Seminarian Cornelius Schuster, our intern from St. Vladimir's Seminary, who will be with us during the coming academic year. Priest Joshua Mosher from Sts. Peter and Paul Church, and Archpriest Sergius Halvorsen, from St. Vladimir's Seminary, sang in the choir. Faithful came from these and other parishes to join in the celebration that was so joyous with the responses sung by the choir directed by Mat. Lydia Westerberg.
Following the Divine Liturgy, those gathered processed around the church, and then returned to bless the fruit brought on this day. All were then invited to a festive lenten brunch, prepared by Matushka Cindy and others. Thank you to all who assisted in preparing for this day, and provided hospitality to all our visitors.
Thanks be to God for this wonderful patronal feast day!
